Join us on July Fourth as we celebrate our freedom.
As in years past, we will set off fireworks at dusk for the viewing pleasure of the community!
In order to make this event happen, we had to work with the guidelines on social distancing that have been with us since the start of this COVID-19 pandemic. That means no beer garden and no bands. We strongly encourage anyone who will not be parked in their cars or out on the boat to stay at least 6 feet away from your fellow citizens. Because folks will be spending an extended amount of time near each other, we also encourage you to wear a face mask or covering such as a bandanna.
In a normal year, the costs of the fireworks, which are quite substantial, would end up being offset by beer sales and the generous donations of our sponsors. This year, there will be no beer gardens, and some of our sponsors may not have the extra cash on hand to be able to donate to our cause. Despite these road blocks, we knew it meant a lot to the community, patrons and businesses alike, to have something to look forward to.
That's why for the first time, we are relying on YOU, the viewers, to make donations of whatever you can, to help us pay for this celebration. We challenge you to get your friends together and all pitch in a few bucks so events like this one can continue to be put on by the Chamber of Commerce.
To donate, you can visit the Chamber Office and give cash or a check, you can mail us a check to PO Box 665, Cumberland, WI 54829 or you can use one of the donation cans at participating businesses.
The festivities don't just start when the sun goes down though!
Come enjoy an old fashioned picnic all afternoon at Lakeside Restaurant! Beginning at 2:00PM, Lakeside will be serving up burgers, brats, beers and more. Enjoy outdoor music on the patio while you munch on your lunch!
