Bust out those trowels and gardening gloves, its time once again for the flower contest!!
Traditionally done as a competition among businesses to promote the beautification of store fronts along main street and beyond, this year the event has been extended to include community members as well.
We know mother nature can be a fickle gal, so our contest runs all month long, and even into the first week of June if need be due to late frosts. We will let you know if any extension is done on the contest, but expect to have your entries done by May 31st.
Businesses- Using planters, boxes, pots and any other container that can hold soil, put together a display that will bring attention to your store front. Some things to keep in mind are the different times that flowers will bloom, how tall your plants may get, if they will have trailing vines and the amount of sunlight they need. Once you are finished with your display, we would appreciate you taking a photo and sending it to the Chamber Office so we can post all photos to our social media page for judging. If we do not receive a photo of your display, we will do our best to visit your business and take our own photos, but there are no guarantees about getting photos taken. The judging will take place in the first week of June unless otherwise noted and the winner will be announced shortly after.
Community Members- If you love working in the garden, whether it be to out-bloom your neighbor or to attract more local birds and bees, show us what you got!! Once you are done with your garden display, snap a photo or two and comment on our status HERE
to make your entry. We will gather all the entries then and have the community vote on their top three at the same time as the business category is judged.
You can win great prizes! We will be giving away Chamber Bucks, apparel and accessories!
